Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is actively recruiting
part-time Unarmed Security Guards/
Psych. Techs to work in the agency's 24-hour Davis
County Receiving Center. The successful candidates will work as the
security guard for all scheduled shifts while also providing shift
coverage as one of the line staff on duty. These positions will be
be scheduled 3-4 regular shifts per week at the Davis County
Receiving Center as their home department. The successful candidates
may be utilized to provide coverage at the other 24-hour programs
when shift coverage is needed during their scheduled shifts.
Program Descriptions
Davis County Receiving Center
The Davis County Receiving Center is a 23-72 hour alternative to
inpatient hospitalization or incarceration that specializes in
short-term crisis resolution. This facility provides observation,
screening and social detoxification for police drop-offs, emergency
department transfers and walk-in crisis services. The primary purpose
of the Receiving Center is to provide a short length of stay and a
focus on stabilizing the crisis and returning a person to community supports.
Job Description
The Unarmed Security Guard/Human Service Technicians (Psych. Techs)
will work directly with the adult clients in the Receiving Center.
Duties assigned to these positions include, but are not limited to,
the following activities:
Security Guard Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the security and safety of clients and staff at
the Receiving Center.
- Work to ensure a safe and professional environment for clients and staff.
- For clients who are not admitted with the coordination of law
enforcement personnel: Conduct searches of clients and/or visitors
and any items they may bring while accessing the facility.
Conducting personal searches and bag searches, while maintaining a
secure and safe location.
- Respond appropriately and in accordance with established policies
and procedures to any incident on the unit.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of all individuals at
the Receiving Center.
- Other duties as assigned, needed, or appropriate.
Psych. Tech Responsibilities
- Manage milieu on the unit
- Take crisis calls
- Facilitate skills development groups
- Assist professional staff in group activities
- Assist clients in accomplishing treatment objectives as outlined
by clinical staff
- Record behaviors and activities
- Encourage engagement with developed programs and individual
treatment plans
- Act as a liaison between clients, family, and professional staff.

Provide Direct supervision and support of the clients in the programs
- Provide supervision and structure for clients on-site as well as
off unit
- Provide monitoring of client’s behaviors and consequences for
clients as needed
- Other duties as needed.
Locations
The Davis County Receiving Center is located in Farmington, Utah.
Both the CRU and RRC are located in Layton, Utah.
Shifts
The Davis County Receiving Center operates 24/7/365. Shifts are
outlined below:
Davis County Receiving Center
Day: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Swing: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Graveyard: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
Compensation & Shift Differentials
The hourly rate for this position is $13.00 per hour for candidates
who are not currently licensed or certified as a security guard.
Employees working during the swing shift (4:00 pm to 12:00 am) will
receive a 2% shift differential (starting hourly rate becomes $13.26).
Staff working during the graveyard shift (12:00 am to 8:00 am) will
receive a 15% shift differential (starting hourly rate becomes
$14.95). The starting hourly rate for licensed or certified security
guards is $15.00 per hour ($15.30 Swing, $17.25 Graveyard).

of the following licenses or certifications:

Licensed Unarmed Private Security Officer in the State of Utah (DOPL)

POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Certified

Other comparable security guard certifications
Candidates who have the ability to obtain licensure or
certification within 90 days will also be considered.
All employees of Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. are required to
successfully pass both a pre-employment criminal background
screening and drug screening.
Candidates must be computer literate and have the ability to
quickly learn new computer-related tasks in order to complete
required documentation.
Preference will be given to applicants who have previous
experience working as a security guard.
Additional p
reference will be given to applicants who have previous
experience working in the mental health and substance abuse
treatment fields.
The part-time PRN Human Service Technician positions are not
eligible to participate in the agency's benefits program.
