Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is committed to being a vital part
of the community. One way through which DBH has been able to assist
members of the community is to provide internship and practicum
opportunities for students in Social Work programs at accredited
universities. DBH is an approved placement site for several colleges
and universities, including, but not limited to Weber State
University, University of Utah, Utah State University, University of
Southern California (USC), University of North Dakota, and Boise
State University. Currently, our undergraduate and graduate
internships/practicums are limited to students who are pursuing a
bachelor of social work (BSW) master of social work (MSW) degree,
and students enrolled in a psychiatric nurse practitioner program.
DBH also works with the University of Utah and A.T. Still university
for psychiatrist resident placements.
Students are required to provide DBH with all of the contact
information for the practicum advisor at your academic institution
so that we can determine if we are able to meet the requirements as
both an agency and that our staff are able to meet the requirements
and obligations to be a field supervisor.
Practicum/internship opportunities at DBH are competitive so
that we can not only provide the highest quality educational
experience to our interns, but also ensure that they are a good fit
for DBH as the agency historically offers employment to many interns
upon graduation.
Classification
Student interns are classified as non-exempt employees.
Compensation
-
2nd Year and Advanced Standing MSW Practicum and APRN students
are compensated at the rate of $13.34 per hour.
-
1st Year MSW students, BSW students, and all other
bachelor-level interns are compensated at the rate of $7.25 per hour.
-
Any approved compensation for psychiatry residents is made by
the universities.

treatment, progressive, vital and continually responsive to the
needs of the community, and advocates for the behavioral health
needs of our clients.
It is highly preferred that individuals who are interested in
obtaining employment at DBH, their spouse, or one of their
dependents not be actively receiving services at DBH except for
medication management services to eliminate/avoid possible conflicts
or uncomfortable boundaries.
Davis Behavioral Health is an equal opportunity employer.
Students interested in completing their graduate or
undergraduate internship/practicum must be enrolled in the social
work program at an accredited university. If a field placement
agreement is not in place with the academic institution you are
enrolled it, this will need to be completed prior to the internship begins.
Davis Behavioral Health utilizes an electronic medical record,
which requires proficiency in computer-related skills.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment
criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire
individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing
alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon
successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a
valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to
report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within
24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must
comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
The part-time positions at DBH are not eligible to participate
in the agency's benefits program.
All employees at DBH are eligible to utilize the agency's robust
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Intermountain LiVe Well.
